We have tried to make buying lamps and lampshades easy. We've spent a lot of time thinking about the details - how the grain of wood lies on a lamp, for example, or the colour of lampshade linings and how that effects the quality and colour of light. Our lampshades are designed to suit our own bases but also to work flexibly with other shapes and inspired by pattern and colour, we have trawled big suppliers, tiny shops, quirky design studios and creative printmakers to collect a large source book of handmade papers, bamboo caning as well as the more traditional cottons, linens and silk materials. If you can’t find quite what you are looking for we have an extensive bespoke service. You can for example, pick a shade shape from our collection and look at our source book for other materials to use, you can choose an old shade you would like to recover or start from scratch and send us your own design.
All our products are designed by us and handmade sustainably in the UK. We work with specialist crafts people, many with decades, some with half a century of experience, ensuring exceptional workmanship. Our collections of lamps and shades are small-scale, minimising our carbon footprint and as well as our own lamp designs in wood, glass and ceramic, we restore and sell vintage pieces.
You can bring a lamp or shade into our Pimlico Studio to try options and we also run consultations via Zoom. Please email or ring to arrange a time. We have advised on large commercial projects and one-off lamps for an individual home, made lampshades several metres high and tiny candle shades, hexagonal shades, antique replicas for companies, interior designers and individuals. We are often called upon to solve a tricky lighting problem and are up for a challenge.
Because our products and materials are beautifully made, we are not the cheapest – but we are not the most expensive either. Our ultimate aim is to give our customers an original, unique product, beautifully and ethically made to enjoy for years.
If your lampshade is to hang as a ceiling light we make it with a pendant fitting at the top of the shade. Otherwise, we will make it in our standard way with what’s known as a duplex fitting. This then sits on a shade carrier, fits all standard and table lamps and allows you to adjust the height of the shade to suit your base. So for ceiling light, please choose CEILING and for standard and table lamps please choose LAMP BASE FITTING
The exception to this is if you choose a small lampshade for a lamp base when we use a fixed fitting at the bottom of the shade. Because the shade is relatively small, we think this looks better. This will be automatically adjusted when you order but if you have any queries or are unsure about anything, don’t hesitate to email or give us a ring, 07790 527 594 / 07968 103985
This drum is a little longer than many you will find in the shops and as such has a more contemporary and unusual look. It suits both table and standard lamp bases and works very well as a ceiling light.
Another classic design which lends itself to most lamp bases. We have experimented with a number of similar shapes and think that the slope of its sides is just about right.
A more contemporary take on the French Drum, this shape has steeper sides for a more modern look.

Our candle shades come as 3/4 cones or full cones. If your light is fixed close to the wall or the sconces are close together, 3/4 cones work perfectly.
